COMPARED
We tested the top builders on what actually matters for tattoo studios: booking, portfolio, Google SEO, and price. Here's how they stack up.
| Builder | Booking | Portfolio | Google SEO | From price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| InkFlow | Built-in | IG import | Auto | $0 |
| Wix | App | Manual | Manual | $16/mo |
| Squarespace | Plugin | Manual | Manual | $23/mo |
| Shopify | App | Manual | Manual | $39/mo |
| Snapps.ai | Limited | Templates | Templates | $9/mo |
Short version: we scored each builder from 0–5 on four things a tattoo studio actually needs, then weighted them by how much they affect getting booked. A builder only "wins" a category if the feature works out of the box — a paid add-on or a plugin you have to configure yourself does not count as built-in.
| Factor | Weight | What earns a 5 |
|---|---|---|
| Built-in booking | 30% | Native scheduling, deposits, and reminders — no third-party app. |
| Tattoo portfolio | 25% | Fast, mobile gallery with Instagram import — not a manual upload grind. |
| Google SEO | 25% | Server-rendered pages, auto sitemap, and clean meta with zero config. |
| True cost | 20% | Price for a working booking-and-portfolio site, add-ons included. |
We weight booking highest because for a tattoo studio the website exists to turn a search into a booked appointment — a beautiful page that can't take deposits doesn't pay rent. SEO and portfolio tie for second: they're what get a stranger to your page in the first place. Price is real but last, because "cheap" stops mattering if the site never books anyone.
Disclosure: InkFlow is our own product, so treat its #1 placement with healthy skepticism. We've kept the rubric public above so you can re-score it yourself — if you don't need built-in booking, drop that weight to zero and a generic builder like Wix or Squarespace may well win for you. The comparison table reflects each vendor's out-of-the-box behavior on their 2026 plans; where a feature needs a paid app or plugin, we marked it as such rather than giving credit for it.
Best if you want to control every pixel. Downside: you assemble booking and gallery from apps and configure SEO yourself. Not tattoo-specific.
Beautiful starting points and strong blogging. Booking needs a plugin. Great for studios that also publish a lot of content.
Strong e-commerce if you sell aftercare or apparel. Overkill for a booking-and-portfolio site, and pricier.
Templates aimed at artists, but booking and SEO still need setup. A step toward tattoo-specific, not all the way there.
If you want a site that books clients and ranks on Google without learning a builder, InkFlow is the fastest path — start with a free tattoo website, then add booking, portfolio, and SEO out of the box. Choose Wix or Squarespace only if you need deep design control and don't mind the setup.
